which represents a shortcut to manuscripts under review You are required to invite reviewers and follow the review process, supplying your final comments to the Editor in Chief. The Editor in Chief will take care of informing the Author of your recommendation. Should you have recommended a review, it may be possible for the revised manuscript to be returned to you for a comment on its revision. If you wish to review the manuscript yourself, you need to appoint yourself as a Reviewer and then switch role from Associate Editor to Reviewer in the top right drop-down menu. Should you need additional information on how to complete a review, please refer to the Reviewer Tutorial available at www.editorialmanager.com/jnephrol. For each submission in your Pending Assignment folder the following screen will appear: |

| Viewing the submission |
| Editors, Reviewers and Authors may view any version of
a submission when they click on the “View
Submission” link. The “View Submission”
link will open up a window from which the user may select which version of
the submission they would like to view. For example, when a submission has
been through one or more revisions, the user can access the initial
submission, and each subsequent revision. If there is only one version of
the PDF, then that version will open immediately, bypassing the window.
You may save a and print a copy of the manuscript from the pdf file:
select the “File” menu (top left corner) and select “Print”.
About Multiple Versions: To view the versions side by side, check your Acrobat Reader settings to find the 'cascade' setting. Cascade will allow the user to set Acrobat Reader windows side by side. Figures: All PDFs are created at 72 dots per inch, which means that some images may not be as crisp or clear as the original source file, and does not mean the original file is poor. The reason the PDF is built at this resolution is to reduce the size of the PDF so that downloading of the PDF is less burdensome to Reviewers and Editors, especially those who do not have high-speed Internet connections or are doing their work remotely. However, if you wish to download high-quality versions of the figures, please set your Adobe Acrobat for this action by doing the following: 1. Open the program and click Edit. Each figure should have an option at the top of the page to download the high-resolution original. After clicking the link, you will be prompted to save the figure to your disk or open it in a browser. The file should then open in the default program for that kind of file according to your computer’s current settings.
